Back at Knockhill on Sunday 6th Sept for the GT Cup & SMRC support races. The GT Cup bills itself as the British GT alternative for the (wealthy?) "gentleman driver" rather than the professional drivers who frequent Brit GT. The cars are almost as stunning, with Paul Hogarth's Lamborghini Gallardo winning the 100Km race on Sunday. Scotsman George Brewster (Porsche 997, seen here behind Hogarth) finished runner-up, keeping Hogarth honest for the first dozen laps.

In the support races, the SMRC Classic Sports & Saloons was dominated by the Morgans of Russell Paterson (72) and Andrew Smith (73) winning a race each. Helensburgh driver Olly Ross had a torrid time in his Lotus Europa, recording DNF in both races.

Peter Taddei was the class of the SMRC Sports & Saloons field, winning both races in emphatic style in his Mitsubishi powered Ford Fiesta.

The SMRC XR2 champioship races were won by Ian Munro in race 1 and Hamish Smart (70, below) in race 2.

The FFDR Cooper Cup had Kenneth Thirwell winning races 1 and 2, with Vic Covey Jnr (7, below) taking the victory in race 3.

There were also races for the Legends and Formula Fords, but they always seemed to coincide with visits to the burger stall...
